As the renewals are approaching, we want to remind you the following: Dentists: Renewal for 2025 will start on December 1 st , 2024 and close on January 31 st , 2025. All dentists are required to provide 90 CE credits for the period going from January 2022 to December 2024. The credits must be self-reported on the members portal at https://nbds.alinityapp.com/ New graduates can request proration for the CE requirements and the renewal form will give you the option to make the request. Dental Assistants: Renewal for 2025 will start on December 1st, 2024 and close on January 31st , 2025. All dental assistants are required to provide 12 CE credits from which 6 must be clinical for the period going from January 2024 to December 2024* . New graduates (2024) don't have to report CE's for this year and may request exemption when renewing. CE credits must be self-reported, and the reporting tool will be added to the renewal form. Instructions will be emailed to you by the end of November. Membership with the NBDAA is optional and not required anymore for licensing. *Exceptionally this year, courses taken from July 2023 to December 2023 will also be accepted. If you have any questions related to the continuing education, you can reach out to licensing@nbdent.ca . General Note: Please note that we can only assist you with the portal. We can't report the CE's for your or complete the renewal form on your behalf.

The NBDS Board of Directors has approved a new two-year cycle starting next year (2025-2026) for CE requirements . It can also be found on the Members Portal . Whats new? CE will now be a 2-year cycle for dental assistants. Dental Assistants are required to complete a minimum of 24 credits over the two-year period. The NBDS has added a wellness category (maximum of 5 credits). PLEASE REVIEW THE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT (you are responsible for being aware and compliant with regard to the requirements). NB: there is no change to the CE requirements for the renewal this year. Dental assistants must submit 12 CE credits by December 31, 2024 in order to renew their licenses for 2025. The online CE reporting tool will be available starting December 1st, 2024.
