NBDAA Membership Fees
In order to become a member of the New Brunswick Dental Assistants Association,
all fees received before June 1 each year must be renewed on October 1 of the same year.
Fees received after June 1 are renewable October 1 of the following year.
Renewals received after October 1 are subject to a
late fee of $10
for each month past due, but is not applicable to first time members.
A receipt will be issued with each new or renewal membership received.
In August, you will receive a renewal form, information about the point system and appropriate verification.
Student
$45 per year
- $45 – New Brunswick Dental Assistants Association (NBDAA)
Regular Member
$135 per year
- $65 – New Brunswick Dental Assistants Association (NBDAA)
- $45 – Canadian Dental Assistants Association (CDAA)
- $20 – Professional liability insurance
- $5 – Local area support
Note: The $5 local area support fee is collected from each member and pooled across five local-area meetings. These funds go toward door prizes and small event enhancements, helping to support engaging and enjoyable local gatherings.
Inactive Member
$65 per year
- $65 – New Brunswick Dental Assistants Association (NBDAA)
We accept payment via cheque, money order, credit card or e-transfer.

for a Level II Dental Assistant in New Brunswick
First-Time Members
NBDAA will collect $135 with your membership application form and copies of the following documents:
- Dental Assisting School Diploma
- Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) if graduated from a non accredited dental assisting school
- Your National Dental Assisting Examining Board Certificate (NDAEB)
Malpractice Insurance is included with your regular membership effective February 1, 2016.
What is Licensure?
It is understood that courses or their educational before performing ANY intra-oral duties in a dental office. This license entitles the assistant to perform intra-oral duties as specified in Bylaw #17 of the NB Dental Society (NBDS).

The following is a breakdown of the licensure requirements:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited program
- Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) if graduated from a non accredited dental assisting school
- Must possess a National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) certificate.
Please note: The Suture Removal Module will be required by June 7, 2008. If you graduated in 1994 or earlier, this module was not included in the dental assisting program at that time. Each dental assistant is responsible to notify the NBDS of their suture removal module. Currently licensed Level II dental assistants who lack training in suture removal shall provide proof of training to the NBDS Registrar by June 7, 2008.
